WOW!!! What a great performance! Thank you, Mrs. Rohde, Mrs. DeLange, and the K-2 students for an outstanding musical program last night! It is a blessing to hear so many voices praising our God! 5th GRADE HANDBELL RINGERS are asked to be at school at 7:55 a.m. on Tuesday, May 11 to help set up for chapel. Please contact Susan Wold Rohde for information or 334-7397 (school). A GREAT DAY OF GOLF! The Sioux Falls Christian Golf Classic is quickly approaching! Spring Creek Golf Course is the place to be on Saturday, June 5, for an outstanding day of fun and fellowship. Get your team together for an 18-hole, four-person best shot tournament. Your noon meal is included, prizes are awarded in each flight, and there are numerous hole prizes! Registration forms and fees need to be in by Friday, May 21 – tee-time preferences are given to the first paid registrations. Registration forms for the tournament are available in the office. Your fun also supports a worthwhile cause - all proceeds from this tournament are designated for Tuition Aid for our SFCS families. SUMMER CLEANING FORMS were mailed out last week along with tuition statements, TRIP news, etc. At registration in the fall, each family signs up to either spend four hours cleaning our schools, or to pay an $80.00 fee. If you have not cleaned during the school year and do not wish to pay the fee, you will need to sign up for a summer cleaning slot. Please return your completed form to either office by May 7, 2004. Jobs will be assigned on a first-come, first served basis! EXTRA ICE CREAM BUCKETS? Mr. Axtell would like several ice cream buckets to use for janitorial tasks. If you have extra ice cream buckets (with or without lids) that you would like to get rid of, please bring them to the Elementary office. Thank you! MOMS IN TOUCH is a group of parents who meets together weekly to lift up our children and school in prayer. We would love to have you join us next Monday morning at 8:25 at the new site! This week please pray the following for your child(ren): “Father, let (child’s name) make every effort to do what leads to peace” (Rom 14:19). You may put any prayer requests in the “Moms In Touch” mailbox located in the Staff Workroom. HOST HOMES NEEDED! SFCS is currently seeking host homes for 5-8 high school foreign exchange students for the 04-05 school year. There are many students from other countries who want a Christian education in the United States. If you are interested in opening your home to one of these students, please contact Mr. Woudstra at 334-1422. We are currently working with a Christian-based program out of Washington who places students from Korea. This program does pay the host home on a monthly basis to have the students in the States. Mr. Woudstra would be happy to visit with any family that has an interest in this program or in any Foreign Exchange opportunity. FINANCIAL AID FORMS must be returned with the appropriate documentation and fee to the Christian School Tuition Assistance Service by May 15. Forms are available in the school offices. RECYCLE THOSE OLD CELL PHONES and raise money for our school. We have recently partnered with Cellular Funding, a company that will pay us for any de-activated cellular phones that we collect and send to them. Cellular Funding recycles the phones and then re-sells them in South America. They pay us according to the model and age of the phone. You may send your old phones to school with students or drop them off at either school office. The student who collects the most phones the week of May 3-7 and the week of May 10-14 is eligible for a prize - $50.00 for first place and $25.00 for second place. If you have any questions, please contact Terri Jorgenson in the Development Office at 334-1422. BUS DRIVERS ARE NEEDED!! SFC is in need of more bus drivers for the 04-05 school year. As we grow in size, our need for busing to events also grows. Please consider the opportunity to drive bus for our student’s events. If you are interested, please contact Mr. Van Soelen at the Elementary campus or Mr. Groen or Mrs. Lohse at the MS/HS campus. The amount of time and work to get your CDL is minimal, the pay is unbelievable, and you would be providing a great service to our students.
